Activity 21 - Tutti pro
Tutti Pro is a tutoring project combining school student orchestra with a professional orchestra. Local music school pupils benefit from a skill development training scheme supported by professional orchestra musicians. After a period of tutoring by their teachers and the professional musicians, the pupils are seated 1 to 1 with a professional musician and work alongside during the full orchestra rehearsals which prepare for the Tutti Pro public concert.
As to guarantee enough coaching time, this activity is implemented every other year in the middle of the 1st school term.
This 1st Tutti Pro training period, with Orchestre de Picardie, took place in February 2016. It was led by Orchestre de Picardie permanent conductor and artistic director, Arie van Beek. 47 pupils, from Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional d’Amiens, Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Douai, Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental de Laon, Ecole Supérieure Musique et Danse Nord de France Lille, worked alongside 33 musicians from Orchestre de Picardie.
After 6 practice sessions and one dress rehearsal, on the 5 February 2016, professional and student combined performed in front of a full enthusiastic audience, at the Auditorium Dutilleux.

Petko DIMITROV’s feedback of this activity:
“I did enjoy being part of this ONE® activity very much. The young musicians were very well prepared, and already really good players…It was wonderful to observe how they were working together. I support the idea of such side by side concerts, and think that they are important for the, still young growing musicians, to choose eventually the path of music”.
The Tutti Pro third edition was once again held by the Orchestre de Picardie.
